The problem of developing countries on methane is serious

The environment meeting, COP-27, is concerned for the second week that the Glasgow meeting a year ago, which only agreed on methane, has not seen much action on it. It is true that as the current meeting began, UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) announced that the organization would now monitor each country's methane level statistics with the help of satellites.

Methane is the second largest pollutant gas after carbon dioxide. It is believed to be 80 times more powerful than CO2 to keep stopping the temperature in the atmosphere. Methane gas emissions are highest through water-based crops such as rice, mining activities, and livestock. Such technology has not yet been developed, So that the emission of this gas can be reduced in agriculture.

This is why agriculture has not been touched in the draft of India's long-term (till 2070) strategy. The condition of farmers in these countries is already not good and they can be pressured to change their farming practices only when they can be given additional economic security. At Glasgow, more than 130 countries pledged to reduce methane emissions by at least 30% by 2030.

However, this will be possible for developing countries only when new technologies are developed and developed countries help developing countries financially. Mere pressure will not achieve anything and the poor country will rise in revolt. So far the global temperature has increased by 1.1 degree and methane has contributed about 30% of it. However, rich countries have understood the responsibility this time.
